Wine Type: Still red wine.
Variety &Vintage : This wine made from #Öküzgözü and Boğazkere varieties and vintage is 2015.
Producer: Known as #Turasan winery which is located in Ürgüp, Nevşehir. Very close to Cappadocia!
Vineyard and Terroir: This wine produced from #Öküzgözü variety from #Elazığ province and #Boğazkere from #Diyarbakır province.
Appearance: Clear and deep ruby color.
Nose: It is clean and has medium intensity, premium aromas like red fruits sour cherry, dry plum and secondary aromas like oak and chocolate, hint of tertiary aromas like tar and dry blackberry.
Wine character, flavour & palate: It is dry wine and has medium to medium + acidity, medium + tannin (comes from Boğazkere), medium alcohol with medium body. This wine has medium flavour intensity, as primary red fruit, sour cherry, red plum, in addition secondary aromas like oaky and a hint of tertiary aromas like tar and dry fig. Also it has medium finish and very complex and characteristic style.
Wine and Food Match: I prefer to pair this wine with grills and lamb. According to the back label that wine will pair with goose and mushroom also, why not?
Where to buy or try: I bought that wine directly from Turasan Winery shop when I went to Cappadocia. If you are close to area you can try different adventures like balloon tour in Cappadocia! Look the photo! 🙂
Conclusion: Very good sample for #Öküzgözü and #Boğazkere blend. You can drink now and also this wine has potential to age because the acidity and firm tannin structure will give a chance to evaluate it in bottle for a few more years.
I would love to hear from you! So don’t forget to leave your comments, questions and suggestions & never forget drinking in moderation!
